A Journey of Art, Legacy, & Determination
Emani Jhané Parks was born on February 8, 1995, in Philadelphia, PA, into a family deeply rooted in education and cultural heritage. She attended Imani Education Circle Charter School, a school founded by her grandmother in 1999 and named after her. Her grandmother’s vision extended beyond the United States when she established Imani Charter School in Gambia, Africa, in 2015. This legacy profoundly influenced Emani and shaped her understanding of her roots.
As a young scholar, Emani immersed herself in African culture and discovered her love for the arts. At school, she studied African dance, African drumming, modern jazz, and ballet. Her passion for performance grew when her mother enrolled her in the Young Performers Theater Camp (YPTC), where she was trained in opera singing and intensive acting.

Although Emani always believed she was destined for the arts, it wasn’t until high school that she embraced her potential for mainstream acting. Encouraged by mentors and acting coaches, she began to pursue her craft with confidence. In 2013, she graduated from Imhotep Charter High School with aspirations to conquer Hollywood. However, her parents encouraged her to attend college first.
Emani enrolled at the University of the District of Columbia, where she studied theater and communications. In 2017, her life shifted when she became a mother to her daughter, Zoe Isabelle Diaz. Balancing single motherhood with her artistic ambitions was challenging, and for a time, she felt disconnected from her passion. However, motherhood inspired her to find joy again and reignite her love for the arts.
Later that year, Emani joined John Graves Productions as an in-house dancer and actress. In 2018, she expanded her creative pursuits into professional modeling, walking runways for New York Fashion Week, Atlanta Fashion Week, and LA Fashion Week. She also appeared in major publications, including CRWN Magazine, Essence Magazine, and Italian Vogue.
In 2021, Emani discovered her talent for creative posing, direction, and styling. She collaborated with creative groups in Philadelphia to develop these skills, styling, posing, and directing models for various projects.
In 2023, Emani officially joined Small House Productions as an in-house actress, creative pose coach, and aspiring director. She has since contributed to magazine cover shoots, video productions, and other creative projects. Emani’s ultimate goal is to establish herself as a successful entrepreneur in the arts while pursuing a thriving career as a TV and film actress.
Beyond her artistic endeavors, Emani is dedicated to continuing her grandmother’s legacy by expanding Imani Africa in Gambia. She remains committed to her journey and believes her story is far from over. For Emani, the rest is to be continued—but her determination is unwavering.
